Bamboo Charley

I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Bamboo Charley. Charley has been living in a yard aside an old building by the Los Angeles river for about ten years. The owners of the property know he's there and love what he's doing and are fully supportive. His yard has become somewhat of a tourist stop for photos, but what I found amazing was how positive and truly happy he seemed to be.
I asked him if he ever gets tired of all the visitors and he laughed and said "how many homeless men in LA get 150 friends visitors a month." He loves the attention and company.

He has a pretty large garden with peppers, herbs, fruits, and veggies. He say's that alone always keeps him busy. He lets local kids an artist come tag his wall and they pay him to let the art sit up for two months as a source of income.

Overall Charlie just seemed to be a normal man who kinda fell out of place but was able to keep himself together and stay positive no matter what life threw at him.
He just has this certain ora about him nothing seemed to be fake or not up for discussion. He'll talk to you about anything art, music, politics, you name it the man knows it.

He's very moving to sit and talk to he loves the company so If you get that chance go find him and just hangout he's a rad dude living in an out door dream land of imagination.

You do the hard work, I help u along
Feed u pieces get you thinking you are smart and I am dumb

You aren't an opponent, you are a victim

The more control you think you have, the less you actually have
Let him gradually hang himself

1- only get better by playing someone better
2- the more sophisticated the game, the more sophisticated the opponent

Learn to win by losing, bait him to lose by letting him win
Control the victim by placing him in environment you control

Seattle Living

You know Im not really one for for all the trendy tourist things to do when you visit Big Cities, but the Seattle waterfront never gets old. I never get tired of Post Alley and Pike Market. From the fresh fish, produce, flowers, and all the wonderful crafts and arts. Even though the idea is always the same everything is always changing. Everyday there is something new out. The smell alone is worth the trip. I also got to goto my favorite record store, EasyStreet Records. I found some good stuff!

Travels to the NorthWest

I have to say yesterday was one of the most beautiful day. We went into a town called Port Townsend. Its really really small known for the old bunkers by the ocean, so we went there first. One of favorite places in Washington, kind of has a spooky feel but its absolutely breath taking. When I lived in Bremerton we used to come by the car loads and me and all my friends would run around here at night playing hide and seek.

- down by the ocean.

-Downtown Port Townsend. I love all the old buildings that still have the old advertisement painted on the building sides.

-Boats down by the water.

-unedited, amazing skies.

- On our way out of town I saw this little Veterans Barber shop. I love the simplicity in a small town
.  You would never see this in Los Angeles.

Have you Ever Seen the Rain

It's been raining like crazy here in Venice. Things have been crazy lately, I always find myself saying I want to get away, but Venice will always be home. Everyone has a different idea of Venice. You'll never really know Venice until you've spent a day in Venice as a "local". It's definitely two different worlds here... however the sun did come out bright and bold today :)

- photos taken by me on a Canon 35mm, unedited.
I recently purchased a digital camera I've been dreaming about for years, but I have to say nothing compares to film.
